The store is well stocked, with a good variety of products at affordable prices. However it can be hard to find members of staff on the shop floor. There are 1 or 2 sales assistants that are quite unhelpful and disinterested in doing their job. I asked about a lamp that was on display to see if they had any packaged ones I could buy, and the sales assistant just assumed that I was trying to buy the one on display. She repeated herself about 2/3 times saying I couldn't buy it, and started walking away. I told her, I was looking for that model of lamp in a box. She then replied saying if its not on the shelf you can't buy it. Well as it turns out, I did manage to find one on the shelf, it was behind another boxed up lamp. Not a helpful attitude at all towards customers

3 days agoI love the range, except, every time I go in to buy one item I need, I come out with so much more lol. The range of things and the cost of things us amazing, and the staff are very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

2 months agoLots of lovely things for home. Can spend hours here. The only thing is that the prices on the tickets can be different to what you pay at the till, I found a few of my items were dearer than the display ticket, (that's if they have prices showing)! We did venture to the new cafe, the burgers were lovely and the prices were reasonable.

2 months agoWe went to the Range this morning just to get some stationery supplies They had everything in stock and more it was a very relaxed atmosphere from staff and customers but the smell off coffee was so drawing So We went to the checkout and paid for our goodies then went back in for a coffee We were quite surprised to find a 30 seat Cafe serving breakfast and lunch and best of all Costa We were greeted by a lovely lady who made our drinks straight away We will definitely be going back even if it's just for a brew and a mooch

2 months agoLove this shop. Has a bit of everything and at good prices too. On this visit it was for gardening supplies which we easily found in the garden section outside. Find it a cheaper alternative to b n q.

3 months agoGreat store with garden centre and cafe areas, tucked away at the back of the main retail park but definitely worth visiting. Shelves are well stocked with decent quality products at a reasonable price.

5 months agoI always feel a bit guilty shopping here because I work for a competitor. I got a lovely picture and hanging kit though and it hasn't fallen off (yet!)

6 months agoThe staff at The Range, Leigh are absolutely 5 star. After getting up to the upper floor, my elderly mother was a little afraid of coming down the escalator and unfortunately the lift was out of order. Several staff members came quickly to her aid. They stopped the escalator and slowly and steadily, step by step, guided her down. Very kind human beings. Mum was truly grateful - Thanks all!

6 months agoVisited the Leigh store today to purchase wallpaper that we were having difficulty finding in other local stores. Leigh shop also had no stock but a very nice assistant on the tills took the time to locate stock at nearby Warrington and Bolton and had them put aside for us to collect so that they had the same batch numbers. Thank you very much Katie for your help.

6 months agoI like the range. It has a great range of products. However, a lot of the items are not priced. This is frustrating because you have to find someone who can price the items, which usually takes some time.

6 months agoMixed opinion here. The store is clean yet cramped, however it is well stocked with a variety of different items with reasonable pricing. The last time I was in this store I was stood at the till waiting to be served, yet the staff thought it was more important to continue their conversation with their colleagues. The staff member was aware that I was there, yet continued to instruct the other member on tasks they should be doing. I believe some of the staff members may need additional training in customer service.

7 months agoLovely place to visit ,you just cannot get enough of the varieties of stuff on sale. The queue was not as bad as I thought and there are lots of parking. Everything is well arranged on the shelves. Although well stocked but if you do not know what you are looking for and have no attendant or staff on ground, you will be walking round in circles. Some items are limited though as not enough to select from. Above all, I enjoyed my visit there.

7 months agoBig carpark. Clean shop. Everything from coats to house plants to house paint and plates and cups. Would recommend this store. Prices are reasonable.

7 months agoSlow is just the only word I can think of. Slow tills, slow staff, couldn't recommend if you have anything urgent to do on the same day. Ordering from amazon is probably quicker.

8 months agoGreat shop and you can practically buy anything you need... however, it takes a long time at the tills as they never appear to actually have any open and want you to be served at customer services... puts you off going to this store and go to another instead.

9 months agoThe Range is well stocked and has a wide range of goods on offer,it also has a garden department where you can purchase some real bargains if you're lucky enough. If you like your hobbies, there is a wide range of material on offer but don't expect it to be like Hobbycraft which specialises in a larger range of specific hobbies. There is plenty of material for children and art crafts for their schooling. There are also a wide range of gifts on both floors from decorating materials to car products and just about everything in between. Upstairs there is a cafe but I can't review this as I haven't eaten there. The toilets are upstairs and the gents were spotless. Well done. There is also a lift and an up and down escalator for prams and wheelchair access.

9 months agoMale staff member in the cafe was swearing and shouting very inappropriately in front of young children. Cafe poorly staffed, no stock and filthy. A fly flew out the microwave that is supposed to be used for heating baby milk.

10 months agoUseless manager, leans on a till scrolling through her phone while customers line up around the store due to lack of open tills. After 5 mins then decides to request for more till staff. When asked why it took so long to open up more tills, she was still scrolling Facebook while speaking to me.

10 months agoJust been to the range and 2 young girls who are restocking the stationary area are swearing on top note to one another! I suggest you have a conversation with your staff about appropriate behaviour whilst at work. Very unprofessional.

11 months agoWell stocked store BUT ever time I visit it takes me longer to find a staff member or walk to the tills for a price check. I picked up 4 items and none had a price tag. Very annoying and time wasting Walking around the store there was no prices on most items If staff are stocking items then common sense would be to make sure things have prices

1 year agoNice store well stocked and fine n dandy till you try to get through the tills. Not enough sufficiently trained staff to keep things moving. The staff are pleasent but struggle in a variety of situations, your usually subjected to a wait to get out of the store this has happened many times even when there is only one person in front of you with a few items. Also be aware that reduced price items often remain full priced when scanned at the till, this has happened to me on more than one occasion.

1 year agoBeen in just now for bedding plants. All bone dry and dead or dying. Not been watered for days. Spoke to Customer Service who argued someone had watered them that morning. This was clearly not true!! He eventually conceded, after trying to say that they had been watered and arguing the point, then saying they had not enough staff Bad customer service arguing and lying to customers

1 year agoThis branch of the range saved the day for our neighbours gender reveal by supplying the gas for the balloon. Special thanks to Josh the store manager for going above and beyond. Great store with lots of lovely items in.

1 year agoLots of lovely items and vast stock. Sadly the staff try and use customer services desk instead of opening tills correctly meaning large queues and hard to get larger items scanned, some staff helpful, Sadly others never leave behind the customer services so you struggle with larger items. Need to improve this or sadly they will loose custom due to this issue.

1 year agoLove The Range, always come out with loads I didn't think I needed. The art and craft section is amazing for all ages.

1 year agoI'm actually in the store as I write this review , once again its guess the price of products as no prices on the shelves in the craft section, Ask a young girl Charlotte why no prices on anything and got a reply in a cocky rude tone that she knows there are no prices on stuff as they are short staffed and a shoulder shrug, so I asked was it a guessing game as they never have prices on, was told however that what I needed she would have to take to the till then if that's what I wanted...I did retail for 30+ years and never once had a member of staff with an attitude that. If you don't like the job leave..Still pulling faces as I pass by.

1 year agoHave always loved this store, and while there still is an excellent choice of products (except the craft section which has reduced every time I visit) the thing that has put me off returning to the Leigh branch in the future is the fact that on almost every occasion, there will be two people stocking shelves, who are not being very subtle about the fact that they are slagging off another colleagues every move! There was even some name dropping at one point! Please stop doing this folks! It is highly unprofessional and very off putting for customers!

1 year agoFound some lovely Christmas decorations. The variety of items on offer overall is okay but it isn’t the biggest range ever. I do have two negatives of the range (this may apply to other range stores as well not just this one). My first thing is that if you buy anything that is more fragile e.g glass baubles or plates, they do not have anything to wrap them in. This can be quite frustrating. The second thing is that they cannot seem to tell you if they have anything in stock. On one day, I asked if they had more of an item in stock and the lady just replied that they do have stock but until they open the box on the shop floor they don’t know what it is. It surprised me that such a big chain store had such a terrible stock tracking process. On a second occasion (a week later) I asked another member of staff and he was way more helpful. He offered to check if there were any in a draw/direct storage for the item and then when there wasn’t he took down my details and said that if they get any in they will call.

1 year agoI don't know where The Range gets it's name but it is appropriate considering the diversity of it's product range. Everything does revolve around household items, from wall coverings and hangings, to kitchen ware, bedroom and bathroom; to decorating, garden and maintenance including tools and equipment. With such a "range" there is a limit to the number of items in each group but there are two things that they have a great selection of .... pictures and mirrors. Reminds me of a Swedish company ... just smaller. Prices are good too and no shortage of parking. Nothings perfect but I honestly can't find any negatives based on my last visit.

1 year agoI can't say that I'm a fan of this store. While this does not apply to all staff members, there are more than I would like to mention who just stand around chatting while people are waiting to be served. Customer service desk seems to be allocated to those with the worst level of Customer Service. Unable to return/ refund as "not my job" or "my manager isn't in so you'll need to come back". Shop floor isn't much better as trying to get assistance is more a matter of luck! Perhaps send management to other stores to pick up the necessary skills and to share them with their staff!

1 year agoQuick call in to check curtain styles for kitchen , but unfortunately non to liking , staff pleasant enough in store , didn't look around as needed to be elsewhere , Christmas very much on the agenda with music playing Christmas Songs seemed weird listening as store selling plenty of Halloween products , only 12th October each to their own I suppose 😄

1 year agoAlways a mixed experience. Store layout a chaotic mix - spend a lot of time in- store searching. Some good quality items & bargains can be found. Staff seem mainly bored ( usually visit after tea) but helpful when pressed. Till arrangements using Customer Services desk very messy (and staff agree). Could do things much better.

2 years agoI wanted to buy a lamp, £100.00 I asked if I could see the lamp out of the box. NO, the girl would not even try and help. I asked another girl about cot duvet. She did not have an idea and said go and look up stairs, nothing but garden equipment. They never wear mask and lots of products don't have prices on, not happy with that shop. Went to eccles today bought the £100.00 lamp, and bought the cot duvet, in the sale at 4.00 pound, had to ask the price at till but staff are very helpful in eccles.

2 years agoTills not open, except customer service, although due to the competitive market they still have a smile on their face like the guy I don’t know what his name is but he’s a big guy on customer service. I was behind a woman who has a child on a wheel chair that had not been out in a year but he’s was brill with her child and she was loving him! Thank god for people like him, the 5 stars are for him

2 years agoGood shop plenty of good items. But service at the till is dreadful. Very long queue to pay for items. The store manager just stood there when he could of jumped on a till himself.

2 years agoUsually really impressed by Leigh Range, but not today (1st November). Arrived and it was chucking it down with rain and was faced with a queue of around 20 people outside. When I eventually got inside it was clear what the problem was, people couldn't get in because as there was only 1 checkout manned, people were queuing at the till to get out. When I eventually got out, there was an even bigger queue outside. I accept that social distancing measures need to be maintained but come on Range, give people a chance!!!
