5 months agoVisited the Leigh branch, was helped by Arlo who is an absolute credit to the store. He found what wipers I needed, fitted them and gave my car a free health check, topping up my screen wash also. Brilliant service!

6 months agoThe team at Leigh were really all helpful. Called in Arlo had the fluid topped and bulb changed in minutes! They had the tiny screwdrivers and key battery which took minutes to fit. I can lock my car, see at night. Great job.

6 months agoI recently had an issue with a dashcam installation and returned to the store to discuss a solution with the manager Matty. I have to say that he couldn't have been more helpful. He was courteous and knowledgeable and had the time to explain what the options were to solve my difficulty. I was very impressed, thanks.

6 months agoVery helpful member of staff who identified the wiper blades I needed, then he went and got them for me and arranged to have them fitted. I am a disabled person and would have had difficulty fitting them myself.

8 months agoHad dash cam front and rear fitted , very dissatisfied with the result all the rubbers and trims removed for the wiring had not been replaced correctly and when you open the boot it rotates the camera out of position I have previously done my own fitting but because the car was newly purchased and it was my birthday thought to get it so called professional done I didn’t manage to take photos as was in a rush to go out for birthday drinks will definitely not be using this service again I have written to Halfords but have not received a reply

8 months agoFitting was not done properly, l had engine mgnt light show on dash, lost screw which l had to get done by a proper and professional mechanic, had to go back 2nd time to have air filter clamp fitted. All because l bought a battery and had them fit it.

11 months agoStaff very knowledgeable and helpful, and reasonable cost for the work undertaken. Only concern is having to carry your bike upstairs at Leigh store, as this could cause some riders problems.

11 months agoJust called in on the offchance someone could help as I been advised I had a brake light out …… the two young guys in the till Couldn’t have been more helpful. They checked what I needed, fitted it without any hassle and I was in my way within ten minutes ….. so polite and friendly …. Credit where credits due ….. great price as well

11 months agoI had an urgent fix required on a wheel where I couldn’t get my tyre off so I decided to try Halfords. Ben on the cycle counter was so knowledgeable, helpful and kind. He gave me some great advice and guidance, fixed my tyre and explained options for looking after my bike better. All in all it was a first class experience! Thank you again Ben

1 year agoCollected new child's medium bike, no waiting efficient service. The attendant was adding oil to a female cyclist bike who just rode in, free of charge, spend several minutes. I paid just over £400 for the bike and extras. However when I asked if he could fit the water bottle carrier was told I would be charged extra. Exact response was "ITS ONLY TWO SCREWS". Did not like the response and my son having to carry the items out not attached, a little sour experience for his first bike he had saved for.

1 year agoPlaced an order for my daughter for collection on Friday. Arrived at 19.54 to find shutters halfway down. OK we were close to closing time but we could have collected our order and been gone with 5 minutes to spare. Staff refused entry and we could not collect her order. The three members of staff then left the store - again before 20:00. Messaged Halfords on Facebook - no reply. Photos and order number available if anyone at Halfords is interested.

1 year agoWent in for a dashcam fitting, told during the booking that the front and rear can be fitted same day. Went there on the day and told the booking was only for the front camera. So got provided a free booking in a few weeks time for the rear to be fitted when it should have been done with the front the same day. Zero consideration taken over the fact I have to trek from Bolton due my local store not having anyone available to do the fitting there and the amount of fuel and time wasted to get there. Appalling service.

1 year agoVisited today to collect and have demonstration of fitting of car seat for grandson. Scott was far from welcoming and looked annoyed at having to go find it. He said demo hadn't been requested with order and we explained that it had been done and ordered by our daughter in law. Besides Halfords website encourages to call at any time to get checked! With some reluctance he began to unpack seat but said if we weren't parked right outside they wouldn't do it. We went to move car nearer and on return he didn't even acknowledge us, continued messing with seat and finally said didn't know how to put headrest down and simply shrugged. My partner politely told him this wasn't the service we expected so he called the manager. The manager was more amenable explaining that the seat ordered was from a 3rd party supplier for which they don't train anyone to fit or demonstrate. Please be aware of this as there is NO mention of this on Halfords website. The manager did help us as had some experience from his own child's seat. Without his assistance our experience would have rated zero!!

1 year agoExtremely shockingly bad service. Website confirms stock availability but we couldn't find it on the shelf so asked for help. 4 people stood behind the till, no acknowledgement whatsoever, no hello. Husband ask for assistance and basically said very rudely down the aisle we just walked from. Not even bothered to check the system for stock availability. Not surprised it wasn't busy as your staff are so rude and practically turning staff away.

1 year agoI ordered online which was simple and quick, however the service when in the store was appalling. The lad on the till was serving someone before me and could not have been any less engaging with them. When it was my turn to be served, i said it was click and collect, I never got a ‘hello’, just ‘what is it’, he then scanned the product put it on the counter and that was that. No eye contact nor goodbye. Now i don't expect to be pandered to, but simple manners costs nothing. Very poor indeed.

1 year agoI placed my order of 4 wheel Trims on line on the 8th April, I was received an email my order wouod be ready to collect from the 10th and would receive an email & text message when it was ready to collect, this i checked daily, the status never changed to "ready to collect" so I decided to go down to the store today 15th and found it was there!!.. I gave one star for the curtious assistant who served me but I will never use this service again ?

1 year agoOrder a child's bike on line. Took money from my bank but order never went through. Went on live chat, after a brief conversation they hung up on me. Messaged on email to say someone would be in touch. Got a phone call from a manager 2 days later saying I needed to re-order which he did on the phone. Said I needed to wait 5 days to collect the bike as we required it to be built but was in store already.then he said he would email me details over. Never arrived. They were actually sent by complete coincidence to my daughter who had a completely different email address. Said I could use my blue light card discount in store to be told it wasn't working in store when I collected the bike. Would never order from them again.

1 year agoMy experience was really bad as the young lad who attempted to replace the head light bulb had Absolutely no idea what he was doing. He started of snapping Three of the four plastic push in grommets that hold the cover over the front of my car's radiator and then he couldn't remove the headlamp from the car because he didn't have a clue what to Undo first so at that point I took out my own headlamp for him . Putting the headlamp back in was just as painful to watch he didn't even know where the screws had to go properly. So at the end of it all I've ended up with three broken grommets and at my disbelief he's even put the bulb in incorrectly

1 year agoMy order was cancelled, no refund has been issued. After contacting Halfords I was informed my item has been reordered. I have not received anything. I've spoken to the live chat on 2 separate occasions with no positive outcome at all. After a further call to Halfords I was put in touch with the store who advised they could reorder the product or give me a refund which I asked for. Refund was received promptly but it was so much hassle I won't bother ordering online from them again.

1 year agoBought a car seat and asked for a free car seat demo. The seat itself is great but the demo left a lot to be desired. I was stood on the busy car park with my 9 month old in the middle of December for over 45 minutes. 3 Halfords employees later and the seat was finally in, but no one was able to explain to me how to move the seat back so I could actually fit my baby in it. I had to lie her on the back seat whilst I wrestled with my old isofix which I had taken out so they could get in the back, get it fitted back in the car so I could get home with her safely in her old seat. My partner then had to read the instructions and fit the seat properly before we could try it out.

1 year agoPoor service. Paid for the weFit service for 2 headlight bulbs. After 2 hours I was told they can’t fit them as they’re not “trained” but we can come back in the week for the “expert” to do it. After 2 hours of waiting round, I got nothing but a damaged bumper. Complaint logged. Take your car elsewhere.

1 year agoBought a new battery on 21/11/22 put it on charge for 24hrs with an intelligent charger to make sure battery was fully uo scatch didn't turn car over as I thought it should. So put back on charge until full charged started car again was just as bad. So before I took it back I tried again only to find the battery completely flat. I took the battery back today 28/11/22 only to be told we got another problem battery, and I can't swap the battery I had to go back put back on charge for 12 hrs then test it again this is only going to be the same as before The manager was robotic stuck on the lines there's obviously a problem with some batteries instead of letting me swap for another battery I'm treated like a person who knows nothing but the thing is I do and unlike the robot manager. If I could have given no stars I would and this is the last time I spend a penny in a store that's treats its customer the way I was today

1 year agoI called in to get some engine coolant for my car - I was assisted by Scott who was really helpful and directed me to the correct product that I needed. Scott also set me up with a Halfords card and got me £5.00 off my bill, and informed me of other offers available. He made the process very easy and I will definitely be returning to this store.

1 year agoMy issue is with Halfotds Internet and Web chat. My order was due on Friday by 4pm. No text or email to say my item was ready for collection. On Sunday I used Halfords Webchat. This could not tell me where my item was. I was given a reference number and was told someone from the shop would contact me. By 11:45hrs on Monday no contact by text, mail or phone call so I decided to walk to the shop to see what was happening. Apparently my item had arrived on Friday as scheduled. The member of staff who served me was very friendly and apologised for what had happened. The price for the item I ordered was cheaper than any other provider. Would have got 5 stars had I been informed that my item had arrived.

2 years agoWent here to have a media system fitter and was greeted by the ‘manager’ who said they don’t have any fitters despite being told they did by another member of staff. Halfords booking system allows you to book and then you drive there and can’t have it fitted. Highly suggest the ‘manager’ attends some customer service training and understands how to treat customers.

2 years agoHalfords is definitely trying to compete with online only shops these days. Prices are competitive and they stock some very good quality products under own brands (bike locks, socket sets, trolley jack, electric cool boxes.

2 years agoJust called in today thinking they open at 9am like it says on their website and on the signs outside the store. On 9am a girl pushes the door to be ajar and says we've been open since 8am!!I said about the website and signs and just said they need updating. I'd been sat in the car park like someone else had for 15 minutes to get in and out. I then paid in cash for the items and no money in the till to give me change so another 10 minutes waiting. This is why people shop online and Halfords you need to sort your opening hours out!!!

2 years agoGreat customer service from Neil Stout! I have an old bike, in generally good condition as hardly been used. I want to donate it to a Ukrainian refugee family but needs a bit of attention. Nothing was too much trouble for Neil who carried the (heavy) bike from and back to my car, and tried his best to fix it there and then. And always with a smile. Thank you, Neil! Alan B

2 years agoI came to Halfords in Leigh this evening, to enquire how much it would be to have an indicator bulb fitted and the lad who served me, and then fitted the bulb (Josh), was very polite and very professional and gave very good customer service, like nothing was too much trouble for him. Every time I have attended Halfords in Leigh, I find that all the staff are helpful and knowledgeable in their area of sales. Nice one Halfords Leigh ??

Friendly staff Andy and co worker helped us to decide on the perfect bike, then went to help further by trying to trace the bike we wanted, then had nothing but patience as my daughter changed her mind! Very happy and recommend this store 100% thank you! We visited today (Saturday) at 5pm :)

Looked at options to upgrade, was served by Melissa, she was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, giving me good advice and tips to help me choose the right bike for my needs. Would certainly recommend to others.

2 years agoPopped in to Halfords, Leigh to price up my windscreen wipers, I got one but didn't think they had the other, as my wipers are different sizes. The gentleman cashier was surprised when I told him and searched on his computer for the correct size, even coming out to measure the wiper on my car. He was so patient, knowledgeable and kind, even fitting them before I realised how he'd done it. Superb customer service, it's not the first time I've had good service from this store and would highly recommend.

2 years agoFrom placing my order online to collection of my new bike the process was trouble free. They kept me updated of the progress of the bike and sent me two reminders so I wouldn't forget the collection timeslot. The bike was in perfect condition and thoroughly checked over, and they even fitted some accessories that I bought to go on the bike. The staff at the Leigh, Greater Manchester branch were superb. Gary and Conner were exceptional, very polite and very knowledgeable, also Conner took the bike and put it in my car. All in all a great service by people who really care about their customers and a very pleasurable buying experience, so much so that I've already ordered a new bike for my wife. Thanks Halfords of Leigh.

2 years agoHad the 10 point winter check done today by Dan at the Leigh store. Fabulous service. Very knowledgeable and explained everything. Then went into store to purchase phone holder and other items. Dan was very helpful and took time to show me different types so i had all the info needed to make my purchases. Thank you Dan. I will be back soon for the in car camera and set up.

3 years agoAfter some research we decided to look at one of the e-bikes in Halfords. We were served by Connor who was very helpful and knowledgeable. After a short discussion and a quick test ride we decided to go for a Carreera folding bike. Perfect for us. And really pleased it would be available in just a week. Great service, very happy.

3 years agoI booked my two sons bikes in for a health check and Daryl was over and above helpful with getting the repairs and replacement tires done quickly for us. He kept in touch with me over the next day to let me know what work needed doing and how much it would be. I was called the next day by Connor to come and pick up the bikes and again he was so helpful and friendly. I will definitely come back as the service from both employees was excellent. 3 years agoWhat a wonderful team. A young girl at the store ensure that my roof bars and box were fitted in time for our UK honeymoon. She went above and beyond to chase UK depot's to get the parts we needed and to the Leigh branch on time. She installed the roof bars and box and ensured to get it quality assured and demonstrated the product really well too. A really helpful member of staff that clearly cares about her job and providing an outstanding service. I will use this store again.

3 years agoOrdered a child car seat for collection. This was from the Leigh store. Welcoming friendly staff and quick service. Good parking though the road layout to the car park is a little complex for first time visitors. Would give a 4.5 because of this.

3 years agoGot my bike assessed and serviced at the Store. Great staff in bike department. Very friendly and knowledgeable. When I collected the bike I had my young son with me so a staff member offered to carry my downstairs and out of the store to my car. Excellent service. Bike looks and feels much better now.
