Believe they host the Manchester Box Cup here. Concerned that they don’t really vet who is allowed to participate in it here considering the words of some of their attendees on Facebook regarding people of other religions…

1 month agoBrilliant place with lots going on under one roof.

3 months agoAverage gym.. Bit small for my liking and not much equipment in terms of weight machines.. Great place to get fit yeah, but not really kitted out for bodybuilding which is what I'm into.. As someone posted a comment on here, yes it appears to full of OAPs n kid's that just want to mess about.. Kids n OAPs shouldn't be allowed in the gym really for health n safety reasons.. It's not good really.. I mean I'm all for starting at a young age, as I started when I was young, however I didn't mess about in the gym.. I went to graft

3 months agoI visit here regularly. It’s got great facilities which are much needed in the area. However, even though it’s not dirty, I feel it could still be more maintained with its cleanliness. When in the gym I see layers of dust, changing rooms had litter, the upstairs toilets need a thorough clean. Depending on which staff member is available, you will either get excellent customer service, or a face that looks like they would be more interested in watching paint dry than actually working But overall a good place.

4 months agoWent to the antique fair at Leigh Leisure Center on the Sunday , smashing medium sized fair with a good few traders. Nice place to go to and easy to get to .

4 months agoThe gym is fantastic, with a wide variety of free weights, machines, and plenty of cardio options. The pool area is lovely, with lots of natural light and a TV on the wall. They offer a great selection of activities for kids and school programs, as well as various studios and classes. However, I have noticed that the cleanliness at multiple BeWell sites, such as Hindley and Howe Bridge, has consistently fallen short. In my opinion, it's because you expect lifeguards to handle tasks like cleaning toilets, taking out bins, and performing deep cleaning of showers and changing rooms. They aren't cleaners, which is why these tasks aren't done well. In a gym, there's a natural buildup of sweat, hair, and bodily fluids from multiple people using machines all day, which can be quite unpleasant without proper deep cleaning. I believe that hiring dedicated cleaners would ensure proper hygiene is maintained to a high standard. During my recent visit, I noticed marks and mess on the doors/floors of the female gym showers, and the accessible shower was out of order. Additionally, for a facility of this size, the absence of a sauna and steam room is noticeable, and there's a clear need for overall facility updates.

5 months agoThe place is massive but unfortunately they don’t have sauna, steam or Jacuzzi for the size of the place they should have those The stuff they are absolutely nice

6 months agoAlthough this site is better known for its Athletic facilities We drove here for a paper craft event on a Sunday, provided there is no sports event you should find suitable parking, there is a Hotel, Supermarket, pub and college on site. Do note although the address is greater Manchester, you are going a lot further west of the city than most would expect.

7 months agoThis place looks great, but hygiene needs to level up. The toilets were very dirty, and the changing room was the same. The staff at the reception was uninterested in problems and questions. The place is very busy with school swim lectures, so always check the availability of the activities.

9 months agoGood gym and nice pool facilities. Unfortunately this centre is massively let down by the parking, any event in the area means you are unable to park at all due to the number of cars. Luckily the Be Well let’s me use other centres in Wigan but this is not convenient which was the point of attending here.

11 months agoI was due to swim at Leigh Leisure centre and was unable to get parked at the Leisure centre. A football match was going on and there was no reserve parking for people actually using the Leisure centre. Avoid using this Leisure centre on any match/ event days. I was driving around and unable to get parked anywhere. Very unsatisfactory. ???

1 year agoI was member for many Years .I am over the moon , my membership is ending next month ! It is a good gym , equipped quite well. At the beginning it felt like pensioners house . However now ... they introduced 11+ ... which is a joke if you are even a little serious about your workout/progress ! Overcrowded, full of teens who just taking space and doing nothing at all . Don't think about health and safety .. what this bunch of kids is doing there is hilarious ? One positive at the end is fitness classes, addicted to Body Combat and Pump ! PT and Fitness Coach Nicola is absolutely fantastic !!!

1 year agoLovely place. Very clean. Staff are so helpful and friendly. My only criticisms are: I wish the swimming sessions were longer. 30min sessions arnt long enough for the kids. And The showers are dangerous for the little ones. The temperature handle is their height. My 3 year old pulled it down and scolded my 2-year-old's back. It all happened in seconds. I did mention it to reception. The lady was very apologetic and said she'd mention it to the appropriate people. It's a very nice place

1 year agoThis "leisure centre" destroyed my sister's swimming confidence. She was in Stage 5 when we had to transfer her here from Howe Bridge because they had no available convenient time slots at the time. The instructors here were rude, incompetent and disorganised and she kept coming out of the pool crying, complaining of their discouraging shouting. Also, nobody there seems to care about the official Learn2swim swimming lesson scheme, as for an unknown reason they said they were putting my sister back in Stage 4. We are back at Howe Bridge now and she is still in Stage 5, but is not the swimmer she used to be. She still comes out of the pool crying pretty much every week and keeps saying she wants to quit swimming lessons. I would not return to this leisure centre afterwards, even for a casual swim.

1 year agoWas here for a karate comp. Guess due to place restriction comp was organised on ground and first floor- super chaotic and announcements were not audible- you need to keep checking. The location is very good -easy access to motorway, and there is Morrisons just round the corner, to get snacks and stuff. Leisure centre staff very professional and friendly.

2 years agoIt's a great place with friendly staff, however the disabled parking is too far away from the entrance and the swimming changing rooms are in dire need of a deep clean. The cubicals are so dirty, they're going to need a serious jet wash on all surfaces including the doors and walls. Then there's that awful sewage smell that arises on occasions. Ashton leisure centre is always spotless and is now my preferred choice of swimming venue. Come on Leigh, you've got great facilities, look after them.

2 years agoGreat place to swim, only lost one star as I sometimes have to ring up to ten times to get through, and because swim lanes speed isn't enforced, in that slow swimmers go in the fast lane, and are not encouraged to move into a lane more suited to their pace.

3 years agoFor a small shopping centre has a lot to offer. Very clean and the security is very good.

3 years agoThe changing rooms are now cleaner and not as much traffic but it is all pointless when the parents are packed in like sardines in the viewing area. Common sense would of removed 2 of the rows of seats. You literally have to climb over each other to get to a seat.... and then follow the one way system. It was a nightmare pre covid but now.... wow
