First class examination and early diagnoses of AMD (Age-related Macular Degeneration). The optician got an immediate referral for me and confirmation and appointment with the eye clinic 3 days later. My condition is treatable because of early diagnoses and routine check up reminders. Can't thank them enough.

I was suffering from an undiagnosed medical condition, I was concerned about my eyes and booked an appointment to get them checked. The optician took time to explain pretty much everything he saw in the scans, reassured me that the medical condition was not affecting my eyes and provided an improved up to date prescription. I felt fully informed and reassured. Excellent service.

I attended specsavers Leigh branch on 24th April with the intention of booking an eye test with Caroline Mosses, who I had seen previously. The receptionist upstairs was very accommodating and actually got me tested with Caroline Mosses within the hour. Well pleased.

My husband and I both had our eyes tested at leigh Specasavers on the 17th of April. The staff are efficient and friendly, my tester was Malcolm Hurst who was probably one of the best eye examiner's I've had very thoroughly and professional also with a good sense of humor. My husband was very pleased with the way his test went. Thank you to all. Highly recommend this establishment.

I'm very disappointed with my sunglasses when I asked in store I wanted a set of sunglasses with reading lenses in them they didn't mention you carnt wear them to walk around or drive with them on so what was the point in selling me these when I carnt wear them as sunglasses the other 2 sets are great just the sunglasses and the customer service I received at the time of my complaint I won't be using specsavers again they said if I pay another 120 pounds they can rectify this problem but why should I pay which will take my total to 650 pounds spent

Had a very good experience at this store today! I was seen by Malcolm (optometrist). He was the first optom I've ever seen who's actually explained the retinal imaging to me, and showed me all of the parts of it (it was very cool!!).
I felt I'd had a proper eye test done today, I was well looked after and he was very friendly too. I'll be happy to keep coming back here! ☺️

My frames were much cheaper than any I have bought previously but the the strength and lense position are the best I've ever had on a varifocal so I'm really very pleased. The staff are lovely and always meet my needs. Thank you Specsavers

I loved this company while I lived in Salford but here in Leigh I have realized I will never return. the incorrect vision and above all the rudeness of the shop assistants. they should be Kind especially when the vision of the glasses has not been corrected

The staff at the shop are second to none. My wife has dementia and has had a stroke. She has also had both lens in her eyes replaced. I have to say a big thanks to Fatima who went through the process, putting my wife completely at ease. Fatima's had the patience ensuring that my wife was relaxed and able to get the best prescription for her new glasses. You would not believe how this gave my wife a big confidence boost. Well done and thank you.

I had an eye test but my new glasses didn't seem quite right so I went back to the shop. Nothing was too much trouble when I explained my situation and I was given another test, then my glasses were changed to new frames and lenses. I couldn't have been dealt with better and all of the staff in the shop were so pleasant and helpful.

Brilliant service I was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes was referred, had first eye operated on within 6 weeks then second eye to be operated on 6 weeks after. The after care at the Leigh branch was second to none.Thankyou.

The optician who examined the eyes was fantastic. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses with reactolight lenses today i went to collect them and the young lady who served me was not good at all she didnt even check that my glasses fit properly,1 pair was not reactolight and she just said them are your glasses. I left with them but i am going to return when i can see someone propper like previous years gone by.

I had an eye test at Specsavers Leigh a couple of years back and was advised my prescription had changed slightly. Couldn’t find any glasses that suited in my price range. Took my prescription to another optician and selected two sets of Varifocals one as a Sunglases pair for half the price of Specsavers. Then the fun started. The glasses just didn’t feel right. Vision was rubbish not clear. Cut a long story short I was eventually retested by their own optician who advised Specsavers had given me an incorrect prescription making them slightly stronger. The glasses were remade at the cost to that business to correct prescription and were perfect.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago and my wife went to Specsavers at Leigh as it was more convenient than heading to Middlebrook retail park.
Eye test done but couldn’t find frames in her price range and style. Ended up at Asda Middlebrook. Selected two pairs at half the price of Specsavers only to find on collection that Specsavers had repeated what they did to me. Vision wasn’t sharp even after trying for a week. Asda did a retest to find the prescription was too strong and so remade the glasses at their expense. The Manager stated they went through this a few years ago where loads of people had this same issue with Specsavers so they ended up raising the issue. The remade ones are perfect. Maybe it Specsavers way of driving sales up?
From now on all eye tests will be done at Asda Opticians.

Booked me in for an contact lenses test at 16:50. They called me day earlier to confirm time and I did mentioned that I may be 5-10 min late due to bad traffic at that time and said that shouldn’t be an issue. Showed up 10min late just to be turned around as I was 10 min late…Not credible at all and just waisted my time completely…

All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They made me feel relaxed and were all so helpful. I had an appointment to pick up my new glasses on the Tuesday but was in Leigh on the Monday, so decided to see if they were ready. The lovely lady that dealt with me, could not of been more helpful. She went in the back to see if my glasses were there, than arranged for me to see someone so I could collect them. All round excellent customer service. I highly recommend this Specsavers branch, especially the staff. They were fantastic.

I'm a client of Specsavers Leigh for a 6 years. And it's really sad to constant that their service becomes worse every month. You never know if you get your glasses,or in my case, lenses on time. They never let you know when your order. It's always a lottery

Good staff and equipment , accompanied elderly parent who was reffered for cateract ops at Spa Medical and was supported through process more than just glasses. Other parent needed hearing aids NHS done with doc referral.

The 2 young men on reception didn't appear very interested.

Jack however who then attended to me was very courteous + well mannered.

Not one to usually write reviews but I can’t fault any of the staff in specsavers Leigh. Especially as there is only a set of stairs to get up, on 2 occasions 2 lovely men helped me get my daughter up and down in her pram without being asked. Not only that they interacted with her and made me feel at ease as I was nervous about bringing her with me anyway! I wish I knew their names to thank them properly!
One man was the optician himself, and the other man was wearing a shirt and glasses standing at the front desk!

Is just a bit difficult to get to read things.
Well the one I had before was varifocals but really good. Maybe is the prize because they are cheaper.
It doesn't give me the space to work around so I can read.
Well about the staff in the shop they are really nice and give all their best to the clients.

Had an overdue test at the Leigh store and. paid a little extra for the eye scan procedure.then a pleasant introduction to the staff and short wait until the test ,A few tweaks here and there to rectify a little issue.Then the task of choosing a pair of glasses from a choice of hundreds! If affordable frames to choose from !
I was able to find a frame I would not normally have opted for but in complete contrast from what I would usually wear was a perfect fit
I took advantage off the “two for one offer,”! so I’m readinesses for summer with a fantastic identical looking second pair of prescription glasses.

The level of service and support offered here is amazing.
My daft self forgot to place another order for my contact lenses, so I phoned up on a Friday to place the order .. baring in mind I had a holiday to go to on the Sunday.
The lady who I spoke to said it would most likely be a Tuesday until I got them but will try her hardest to get them to me earlier.
I got a text the next day (Saturday) letting me know they are ready for collection.
Overall, I got my contacts in less than 24 hours after I ordered them and the ladies who I spoke to were brilliant.

Big thanku to Lucy at leigh today I hadn't had my glasses long & they hadn't been comphy & I'd snapped them trying to alter them & was so worried & stressed as cudnt do without my glasses & these just wernt right anyway totally reassured me & put me at ease & helped choose me some more which felt perfect & with help from Ian as well I just can't thank u enough top class friendly service & what a relief that I av replacements coming soon & would definitely recommend specsavers leigh to anyone .

My glasses had to go back because I wasn't advised that the frames I chose were too small. This was pointed out after I took them back because they kept falling forward on my face. There were other problems as well which were resolved eventually! My husband had his eyes tested on the 8th October. His glasses are varifocals. One pair was ready 4 days later. As of today, 25th October, we have had no communication regarding the second pair! I phoned the store and was told they have arrived! When I queried why the second pair had taken so long, I was told varifocals can take up to 3 weeks! Why then did the first pair come back in 4 days? Especially as they go to the same place to be made. Doesn't make sense. I wonder how long it would have taken to be notified if I hadn't rang. Quick to take payment, but not to deliver the goods!

An opticians is an opticians ... wherever you go. Everyone knows the name, many of us are customers so why write a review? Well, I guess this is more of an acknowledgement and thank you to the team. Anyone who has been recently knows that it's s bit messy because the builders/decorators are in doing their thing. But, even with the disruption it is causing, the organisation and attention from all the staff was excellent. The eye tests are what you would hope and expect, thorough, professional and beneficial. The service when choosing frames was fun, which is something for me to say as I usually find things like that stressful. I happened to have the attention of both the bosses but it is clear that they take time to train their staff and that they support them. More importantly, the staff respond accordingly and seem to respect and trust them. I've used them before without any hiccups, at least at this branch, so kudos to you all for your service and attention and s thank you from me. See you when the frames arrive.

I had a 0955 appointment. On my way there, there was roadworks and roads were closed. I rang in at 0950and spoke to someone, told them I'd be running about 10min late, she assured me I'll get seen. I get there, there was noone seeing to people and waited to be seen to for another 10min. A woman called Sandra came and told me I wouldn't be seen to. Interestingly, I have been coming to this place for years and Sandra has never been nice to me at all. One time I came into Specsavers and she refused to tighten my screws ?, and that day I didn't get her name. I work with people in the NHS and have a bit of an idea how to interact with people from all walks of life. The fact that this is the 3rd time running in to Sandra, I'm done. I will go elsewhere. I'm sure they won't miss me, but I was once seen to by Ollie, and he gave us a great service. I'm 100% sure my review wi probably be a drop in the ocean but it's gotta be said, maybe someone might read this review. I would have given zero stars but I can't, sadly for me!

I visited the branch recently for the first time and I am delighted to say the professionalism and fantastic service given just wowed me. From the eye scan, eye tests, the review and the picking of my glasses. I had 3 members of staff at each point of my appointment. But the service was great. Each professional and considerate. The branch was clean and tidy, well set out and Covid restrictions followed very well.

The staff are rude and ignorant. Service users are merely an inconvenience....... I will be taking my custom elsewhere when me and my family are next due eye tests. If I could give less than one star then I would.......... I would not recommend Specsavers in Leigh at all........ However, I have heard many good things about the one in Wigan. Maybe the staff would benefit from training in good customer service......

I wanted to say a huge, heartfelt thanks to the ladies which looked after my daughter yesterday. She is 9 and suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. The lady who checked us in quickly picked up on her distress and took the time to explain the next steps in a child friendly way which calmed her down. The lady which did the initial tests was wonderful too and even managed to get a smile on her little scared face. The optician was truly amazing and managed to build a rapport with her so she felt she could truthfully answer the questions. She was so patient with my daughter even in such a difficult situation.
This all may sound like nothing to the majority of people but to an very scared, anxious child and her exhausted mum it means the world. We are both very grateful to these three, wonderful ladies.
