3 weeks agoMade an appointment for 12.55 today and turned up on time. Initial pressure check etc took place after 5 minutes then kept waiting (and still waiting at the point of this review) for another hour with no explanation as to why it was so late. Poor service and lack of communication. I accept appointments can fall behind but please at least explain why. Eventually with no end in sight I had to leave and was brusquely dismissed when I explained why. I have arranged an appointment at the Trafford centre instead . I would much rather use a local business but my treatment here was abysmal and particularly unforgivable as I've been using the Leigh branch since moving here in 2012.

3 months agoCan not express how brilliant they were today . The gentleman that did my test was exceptional. He left no stone uncovered. I really appreciate how thorough he was and reassured me that everything was okay. There was help with choosing the right frames Happy to go to them again . Well done vision express in Leigh . 4 months agoI needed a new pair of glasses so I booked an eye test at Vision Express, Leigh. The optician mentioned at the start of the examination that as my previous eye test was under two years I would have to pay for this one. Fortunately the 'Blue Light Card' had an offer on of a Free eye test + save 30% when you spend £50+ in store on glasses, prescription sun glasses or contact lenses. After the test I selected the glasses I wanted and placed an order. No pressure sales for extras etc. I had my test on the 6th Feb 2024. I collected my first pair on the 9th Feb and my second pair (sunglasses) on the 12th Feb. Great service from all the staff at the Leigh store and with a good saving thanks to Vision Express working with the Blue Light Card. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the Leigh store.

5 months agoI recently purchased two pairs of glasses from the Trafford Centre branch, and they arrived in the post on October 20th. I was excited about both of them, but one pair turned out to be quite loose. After reaching out to the Vision Express helpline, I had the pleasure of speaking to a gentleman who provided clear and helpful guidance. He assured me that I could visit any local store, not necessarily the one I initially bought from, to address the issue. Furthermore, he confirmed that the glasses were still within the 100-day warranty, and I wouldn't incur any charges, even if they needed to be replaced. I chose to visit the Leigh store, which was closer to my location. However, my experience at the Leigh store was disappointing. The sales associate, Kat, who assisted me (blonde with short hair), was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive. She immediately declared the glasses as "damaged" and informed me that I would have to pay the full cost for a new frame. Her refusal to provide any assistance at the Leigh branch left me frustrated and dissatisfied. She suggested that I could try the Trafford branch to see if they would "honour" the warranty. In response to Kat's uncooperative attitude, I contacted the Trafford branch right away. The person at the Trafford branch was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. She assured me that I could bring the glasses in, and they would address the issue free of charge under the "manufacturer warranty." She even took the initiative to contact the Leigh branch herself and expressed her confusion regarding their refusal to assist me. I promptly made an extra trip to the Trafford Centre, where they were able to make the necessary adjustments without the need for a replacement. This was a straightforward procedure that the Leigh branch should have been willing to perform. The sales associate there seemed disinterested and provided subpar customer service. Fortunately, an excellent Irish gentleman at the Trafford branch graciously tightened the glasses for me, and I was pleased to have my original pair fully functional

8 months agoLove this store. I have been coming to this particular store for over 10 years. I travel from liverpool because the staff are so friendly and helpful. I was seen by Seema and helped by Diane today and as always the service was amazing. Can’t fault anyone at this store. No matter which member of staff it’s always a good experience

10 months agoI called this store before my appointment to check my contact lenses check would be free as I receive UC. They said it would be. When I arrived at store the optician told me that you can only receive a free NHS eye test for glasses (this is not true) and that i would either need to pay £35 or sign up for their contact lenses subscription. I told them that it is illegal to refuse to give a patient their prescription, as I had the same issue with another store 10 years ago who refused to give me my prescription because I didn't buy contact lenses from them. Eventually, after I had complained, they gave me the prescription as they also knew it was illegal, just like the optician today knows this is illegal but still refused to preform his job correctly. I will be making a complaint about this store to the OCCS. You do not need to pay onto their subscription services for contact lenses in order for them to release your prescription. The store know this is illegal but most likely think people are too stupid to know this. An NHS eye test is free for glasses and contact lenses and my prescription belongs to me, not the store. If they try this with you, walk away and complain.

10 months agoHave been to the store 5 times now to get my glasses adjusted. Ended up with a new frame after the amount of adjustments left my glasses warped and mangled. I have a new frame now but will give it another week or 2 before I decide if i want to keep this pair of glasses or not

They actually talked to my son, who is non verbal , i usually have to tell people to ask my son as they ten to speak to me 😡 the optician & my son was having a laugh & he showed my son how to show tell him when things we good & things were bad . All in all a really postive & friendly experience. Thank you Leigh branch 💖

2 years agoThe lady optition I saw was 1st class. However I find the really bright lights Make it difficult to get a true impression when trying new glasses. When you try them in true light, it is differant.

2 years agoAfter looking for a pair of petite glasses for about a month l decided to try vision express at your Leigh store. As soon as l entered l was seen to right away and the assistant was very helpful and patient in trying to find what l was looking for. l am pleased to say she managed to find a pair of glasses that l was happy with many thanks. 2 years agoReally friendly team, very efficient and patient when it came to picking glasses. Obviously processes are still a little different due to COVID. All frames touched need to go in a basket to be cleansed! 30 frames in the basket later I found a pair. The staff checked each other’s work which is reassuring. I’m yet to receive the glasses but vwry happy with the process to-date.

3 years agoNice showroom with very pleasant staff who did everything to ensure you made your own choice of lenses and frames without any pressure at all. The optician carried out a thorough examination and saw a problem with a reoccurring eye lid infection he sent the information through to the NHS eye clinic and I was seen the very next day Brilliant service many thanks to Vision Express
