Very expensive. Quote worked out at around £74/m2 including fitting and underlay. Bought the identical product elsewhere for £47 fully inclusive and we were absolutely delighted with the service the other shop provided from beginning to end. Despite the budget appearance of Welch Mill, we noted that high end showrooms were typically 20% cheaper before any negotiation. The choice is yours.

We've used Welch Mill for a good number of years. This time, we were looked after by Stuart, who's lovely, very approachable, easy to talk to and definitely knows his stuff. He went out of his way to make sure that we were happy with our choice and the price. The fitters were also fantastic. They moved everything and put back for us, nothing was too much trouble for them and they left our home clean and tidy. We're absolutely delighted with the end result. Why go anywhere else?! ??

Went to Welch mill looking for new carpets for my bedrooms in my newly purchased property. Stuart was extremely helpful and made sure I came away with exactly what I wanted. Really pleased with Welch Mill. We've used them for supplying and fitting carpets for our bedroom and dining room and the quality is great. We dealt with Stuart who was honest about what would be right for us, and we didn't felt pressured at any point. Especially impressed as we had to nudge the install dates by a couple of weeks, and they didn't batter an eye. Happy to recommend them and always a high quality service.

This place has a huge selection of "off cuts" of varying sizes as well as "from the roll". This is also true for lino and vinyl flooring. I have had my bedroom and stairs/landing done by them and will be going back for the living room and dining room carpets.

Contacted Welch Mill Carpets using the email provided on their website to get a quote, Nick responded quickly with a great price although he advised that the carpet of choice isn't the best in terms of durability for the stairs and recommended I visit the store to have a look at different options as it would be better in the long run. I really appreciated this advice as I don't know much about carpets. Visited the store the following Saturday and Alan showed us a carpet similar to what we wanted but a bit more durable and it was also on sale so we got it at a fantastic price. Alan booked in the measurements to be taken on the following Monday and the carpet was fully fitted by Wednesday afternoon. We even had a courtesy call from Alan on Friday to check everything was ok with the fitting. Fantastic service and I will be using Welch Mill again for the rest of my new carpets.

I had my stair and landing carpet fitted this week by Welch Mill. We have had off cuts from here previously but this was the first time we have had one fitted. Nick who was our salesperson was really helpful, he explained the options available for edging the runner on the stairs and how to have the pattern running. He kept us updated throughout as the runner had to be sent off first to be edged. Really happy with the carpet and the fitter did a really good job.

Alan was very helpful when I was looking for stairs and landing carpet, price was also good as everything was included including taking up the old carpet. We have used Welch Mill quite a few times over the years and this latest is no exception. We decided to have new flooring laid down in the conservatory and after choosing a design we liked from the vast range we had it booked in for the end of February to be fitted. The fitter came and promptly set about the work being as professional as we would expect. Unfortunately my partner rather than waiting for me decided to put the furniture back in the conservatory and ended up ripping the lino. Alan from Welch Mill rang later that day to find out how all went and she explained did an amazing job and that she had did what she did. The very next day Alan sent the fitter back FOC and he repaired it to the point you can barely tell. We would like to thank Alan and the rest of the team at Welch Mill excellent as always

Visited last week, great selection of carpets, we were served by Mick who was very professional and quickly worked out how much carpet we needed for our stairs and landing. Fitted the same week, fitters came on time and were efficient and did a great job. Very competitively priced, would definitely recommend.

Impressed with the choice of carpets. Gave salesman my figures and to double check it they sent someone out to measure to make sure costings were correct. My figures were out so when we rang to pay they assured us the new lower measurements were reflected in the final price. Day of fitting impressed with the fitters, however, on the invoice they left it had the price of the carpet per Sq Mtr and how big our room was. Now I'm no carpet genius but felt we had been overcharged slightly. Rang up to double check and we had been overcharged by £250 which was promptly refunded. Super disappointed that no apology came with the refund or any accountability that they got it wrong by a vast amount. It's not twenty quid were talking about here.

We bought the LVT laminate and had it in the herringbone pattern. We took the old laminate up which we had bought from Welch Mill when we first moved here. As the first laminate was so thick there is a gap all the way around our living room and hallway where the skirting board doesnt touch the floor. Now I had asked Stuart to give me a price that included everything, he said he had and I had to pay upfront for materials, which I did. The man came to measure the rooms and wrote on the sheet about the gap around the skirting. The fitters came they were great, looked good bar the gaps around the skirting. The fitter said he would give Stuart a nudge. Three times we have been lied to about someone coming to do the beading. I will never use Welch Mill again

Really impressed with this place! Massive choice of carpets. I walked in yesterday with a single room measurement and asked for anything as cheap as possible. The gent found me a perfect sized off cut for £60. Booked me in to have it fitted this morning - so fitting was less than 24hours of being in the shop. Two lads turned up nice and early. Called me first to let me know they were 25minutes away. Both very pleasant, quick workers and did a fantastic job. Really impressed with this service and how friendly/knowledgeable their team are. Thank you. I will be returning in the future.

Scoundrels I purchased a 14ft x 14ft 6" carpet to do my stairs. Knowing full well there would be a good chunk of leftover carpet which turned out to be 8.5ft x 11.5ft Only they cut it off & sent the fitter with only enough for landing & stairs. On asking the fitter where MY remaining carpet was he got very evasive & abrupt. On ringing welch mill complaining about the missing carpet I was told it's here & I could have it back. Well thanks, I mean I only paid for it, clearly a carpet of that size would have sold again for a small room. How dare they keep my bought & paid for carpet & expect anything other than a scathing review? Clean up your act and treat your customers with the decency they deserve.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE ! Wouldn’t even give 1 star! Absolutely disgusting way to treat customers! My friend has been given the run around from these people for weeks now. Nothing but lies and fob offs! My friend wanted his mums house all done nice for her coming home from 2 months in hospital with a broken back. BIG MISTAKE COMING HERE! They brought a defected carpet to the house and fitted it! When pointed out the defect was fobbed off with lies ! So amused Lee and went along with it that it is a crease in the carpet and will “come out” no such thing! Ring up and they are all giving you a run around like a tag team, the woman on the phone gave wrong phone number the first time with 13 numbers! now they have your money and sold you defected carpets, and promised to rectify not only the carpet but the shoddy way it has been fitted! It is a HUGE TRIP HAZARD for their mother who is 82! Oh and not to mention giving you wrong phone numbers and then to put your phone call straight through to voicemail when you try to ring the “boss” “joker” My friend has enough on their plate being a carer for their mother with dementia! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR ! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE ! This review will not be removed until this has all been rectified as “loosely” promised.

I was in with my husband approx a month ago. We looked in several places, when in fact we should of come here first. The choices were excellent, if you cannot find what you are looking for in Welsh Mill it doesn't exist. Lovely choices, lovely polite helpful staff. See you soon ?

To be honest I don’t often write reviews as I am not a lover of going shopping full stop, but we needed some flooring desperately and my wife took me to Welch Mill Carpets. As soon as we walked in there was a pleasant acknowledgment from the staff whom then allowed us to walk around ourselves and look, eventually a salesman came over and asked “were we looking for anything in particular,” iE type of flooring what area of the house we were doing etc, as there was multiple choices. The salesman was excellent not pushy in fact very informative and honest. We eventually found what we needed at a fantastic price! And is now fitted and it looks amazing, from start to finish it was a great experience my wife is over the moon, and it was cheaper than I expected, compared to other quotes, will always get my flooring from Welch Mill Carpets from now on, thanks guys!?

Amazing service from these guys, the knowledge of the sales team was fantastic, the installation was seamless and perfect, the fitters were clean and tidy and they couldn’t have been more helpful. The carpet we had fitted looks amazing and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Welch Mill Carpets to anyone! To top it off they were cheaper than others that we had looked at. I bought some carpet from welsh mill but was having it done in two sittings as was in the middle of decorating. The second installation date came and the carpet wasn’t the same colour as the first, the guy at the store said it’s because it was a different batch so he used the sample roll instead as it was a closer colour match. But because of this I lost my installation day and had to wait for a week with no carpet. The guy came and fit it and I love the new carpet but it turns out that it was actually the first carpet that was fitted was the incorrect one. As I thought it looked slightly darker than the one I ordered but thought it must be the lighting in my room and I was disappointed with the pile as was not as good as the carpet I was replacing. It was only apparent when you walk from one carpet to the other that the pile is much different so I paid for an expensive carpet and have been given a cheap substitute instead. Not happy with the cheaper substitute or the company in how it’s been dealt with.

Absolutely appalling service. Waited since the 5th of December for someone to come out and sort my carpets out. The fitter came back who fitted the carpets and fixed them the best he so called could. Had an inspection on the 23rd of January To be told he would sort it ASAP. To say I've got a child with complex needs and myself a currently high risk pregnancy with carpet pulling away from the stairs is absolutely appalling. I've rang and rang and nobody ever gets back to me it's always oh let me find something out first. Just not professional at all. I've never gone anywhere else for my carpets but this time round I will certainly not be returning as a customer

We bought laminate floor from them just over 12 months ago. They tried to cancel the appointment last minute after us already waiting weeks longer than they said we would and us taking days off work to have it fitted. They then said they’d come at 9:00 but turned up at 19:00. The job was left half done when they left at around 20:30. Bearing in mind it was a large area and the space they actually completed should have taken a lot longer. They said they’d be back with the extra boards because they didn’t put them in the van. We never heard anything and the “customer service” is non existent. After turning up at the store, we were given 3 packs of boards to finish the job ourselves, being told they didn’t believe us, despite photographs, but it was a “gesture of good will”??? Giving me the product I paid for?? We also paid for fitting but I just wanted the job finished. The first bit of flooring was fit in July and this was now NOVEMBER. We were still owed kick plates for 3 doors and the wood trimming wasn’t attached on half our walls but I just wanted my actual flooring finished at this point ? Subsequently, 12 months on. It’s bubbling and lifting everywhere. We’ve basically argued with them for weeks and been lied to continuously. Now to be told they won’t do anything and we’ll have to pay £150 to get someone to inspect it ourselves. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Also, getting through to anybody useful on the phone is a joke as nobody seems to know what they’re doing. They then lie about the managers names and people’s positions to avoid ringing you back. They sent 2 men out on 2 different occasions to look at the floor who BOTH said the flooring is supposed to be water resistant so this is clearly an issue with the flooring or the fitting. They also commented on how they could tell the job was half finished due to no sealant being used around my fireplace. Well, we mentioned that on the phone and they claim they don’t know who either of these men are ? We’re now £1000 out of pocket and have to buy new flooring after 12 MONTHS.

Still waiting for someone to sort out my parents complaint they made about their recently fitted carpets from 2 months ago. Terrible smell on the carpet which has been promised to be industrially cleaned...this hasn't happened and Customer service is terrible so far! Would be great if this company would deal with their complaints and help their customers! Looks like a call to trading standards is the only way forward. Absolutely shocking service for a couple in their 70's. They have been sat in their kitchen for all this time as the smell is so bad! Numerous phonecalls that just get fobbed off. No aftercare. AVOID!!

Had full house carpeted and laminate by dave and Tony today. First off the quality of the floors are very good quality and ordering, paying and measuring was very simple sorted out by welsh mill. I was in a rush and they managed to get me in 2 days after ordering for fitting even though they are busy so thankyou so much for that! Dave and Tony have done a brilliant job fitting the floors. Come to abit of an obstacle at the end which I need to sort but assured me if I ring them they will be straight back to fit the remaining bits once I've sorted it. Very friendly and good workers, couldn't be happier, thanks so much :)

We used to go here for all of our flooring but the last few times we've been, the staff just don't seem to be interested in us being there. Considering we were looking to spend quite a lot of money, they just didn't care and we're more interested in taking our money than discussing our needs. The laminate flooring section is a total mess with pieces scattered all over the floor and some books falling apart and I even saw an old suitcase in a corner on a shelf. I won't complain about the structural problems that the building seems to have because if their service were better, it wouldn't matter but it seems the whole business has seen better days.
