Carol in Argos probably needs some more training. Her customer service skills leave a lot to be desired. Rude, unclear and truculent. Will avoid this branch from now on as it left me feeling uncomfortable and undervalued as a customer.

A really bright and airy supermarket with nice wide isles. Not the cheapest supermarket but reasonably priced items give a wide choice to choose from, including a large clothes range. I think there was only one till that wasn't Self-Service. 😮💨

online shopping experience terrible. i had one shop with 26 items dated with 1or 2 days and no short date warnings. I spoke to a store manager and the online shop manager rang me to apologise and state what it happened and it wouldn’t happen again and if i had anymore problems to ring him direct in the store.
My next shop had 2 items i let that go as it took so much time to sort the last problem out.
Then 31.07.24 i had another shop delivered and all my chicken and meats again had 1st or 2nd August. 7 items costing £22 in all.
I tried to call shop in leigh at least 8 times with no answer to eventually be diverted to a call centre who again asked me to photograph and email everything and put a claim in again so sorry sainsbury’s i have not got time for this every week so i think it’s time to move to somewhere else.

Love Sainsbury's. Love the home range goods. Love that Habitat is in there. They always have such a better range of toiletries and, for us personally, a better choice of vegan items. Sainsbury's is on par to Waitrose for me. They have a cafe inside also. Only downfall, never enough people on the tills!!

Same as usual, one person on a served checkout and aisles /shelves filled with empty boxes. You need more staff to make this a nicer experience as at the moment it puts me off and very frustrated about the checkouts. There's never a manager around early evening either.

Of the last five times I've been to Sainsbury's for petrol it was closed for four of them, despite the claim that they are open 24 hours. When it is open invariably there are pumps out of action, the pump refusing to accept the card for payment, the printer for receipts is out of paper and another doesn't give Nectar points. So I go to Morrison's, and since I have to go there for petrol, it's easier to get the food there as well.
Waste of space. It got one star as it won't post with no stars.

Shopping here is easy & loaded with fresh & varied products . Ailes are wider than some other similar places . Various check out styles , self service , some usual staffed check outs . A wide range of household stock & personal items . Also a high number of organic products clearly identified with SO on packaging.
We visit this store more & more now , it has more generous space & it seems friendlier with room to feel more relaxed whilst shopping .

The supermarket is great. Always fresh fruit and vegetables. The only niggle I have is the trolleys. A lot of them are stuck together which is frustrating when you just want to get your toddler into a trolley but have to keep trying different ones until you find one that comes loose! The newer ones don't fit into the older ones and there's sometimes nowhere to plug one into. When I take the trolley back to the car parking trolley bays, I can never leave the trolley there as it doesn't fit the smaller ones. I often end up having to leave my 2 year old in the car while I run around trying to find somewhere to plug the trolley into. Not ideal! Also beware that many ignorant people use the parent and child parking bays when they don't have children with them. Often gym users and people doing click and collect in Argos. Sometimes older men with disabled badges on the dashboard who could have parked in a disabled space but would rather irritate parents instead!!

I go shopping here every week, it's clean, the giraffe baguettes are awesome and the staff are friendly :) The only thing I would say is that the fresh produce mainly the prepared fruit or even just fruit e.g. strawberries have a very short shelf life whereas if I go to Asda there is sometimes 5 days or more on these, BUT Sainsbury's strawberry's are awesome if eaten quickly. I sometimes feel like supermarkets forget that some people can only get there once a week.

Really upset with this shop. Bought the wrong baby milk and came back inside literally a minute later after ringing my partner because the shop has terrible phone service. 3s or 4s Manager at the kiosk wouldn't exchange it for the right one. I'm fully aware baby milk is a high risk product but I literally had my receipt from a minute ago and would of been on CCTV at the front of the shop. How could in her words "anything of happened to it" cost of having a baby is a joke as it is. Really upset with this. Abit of common decency would of been nice. I'm not a person to cause a scene. But yes. Very upset.

Iam a bit of a newby to shopping and once I walked through some security electronic devices I realized I needed a basket the baskets were about 3mtrs from the barrier and the security guards ask me to go all the through the store and come back in again, not a very good start nevertheless I carried on with my shopping only to find the same security guard had followed me it made me feel uneasy and I didn't want to shop any further you had your shot I wont be using this store again ,shame !

Called this morning, there were 2 manned tills and queues, and there must be 20 tills not manned.
I will not use self-service as I have picked the food and will be packing it (despite not being an employee). You need to be doing something to warrant the prices.
Left my trolley with a member and politely explained why I was leaving and to return it to the shelves and I went elsewhere.

On a recent visit we got to the till at exactly 10pm (closing time) and they closed the only checkout available, exactly as we got to the till, and said we were too late and needed to use the self checkouts. If they said sorry we are closed we cannot process your order that would be fair enough but they were happy to accept my order via self checkout.
It took us 17 minutes to process the £161 worth of shopping. The assistant at the self checkout desk was very helpful constantly resetting the system as each time the load area was full had to bag items and reset. She agreed that the self checkout wasn't designed to accept this amount of shopping.
On recent visits to Sainsbury in Leigh, even at the weekend, there only seems to be a maximum of 2 checkout tills open at any one time which results in long waiting times. Sainsburys still have a great range but have well and truly joined the race to the bottom in terms of self service checkouts.
Aldi seems to manage to increase the number of open checkouts quickly when the quees get long. Morrison's have plenty checkouts open at all times. The long waits are really putting me off shopping here.

I don't usually leave reviews for supermarkets because usually it's just a supermarket....
But I do love this Sainsbury's store. It's so big and spacious, it never feels busy. Tons of choice on food and homeware. The petrol station is always one of the cheapest around too. Brilliant store and useful to have the other shops like Home Bargains etc right there too.

The shop itself is fine but why are the signs outside advertising the cafe when there is no cafe. A very abrupt member of staff said there has not been one for ages(sounded like she was sick of being asked). For goodness sake take down the signs it is annoying and misleading.

Says volumes when most items are cheaper in M&S than Sainsbury's. Sainsbury's use to be good but they've really gone down hill in quality and pricing over the last 10 years. Same shop in Aldi cost me £70 compared to £160+ in Sainsbury's, Aldi was the same quality if not better when it comes to the meat.

Wasted journey. Item on shelf plenty of stock. Got to checkout and it scanned fine but wouldn't allow to complete. Manager and staff could not fathom out why it was not allowing to complete the sale and so refused to sell the items and said they must have been banned from sale for some reason. Total waste of a journey and a disappointed customer. Prob cos the item was on offer and they probably sell tomorrow at the higher price. But I won't be wasting my time going all the way back there I will shop elsewhere

No issues with food or the lovely lady on the till, the main problems are the lack of open tills,I have to take my mother and she can't do self service as most pensioners can't and to have just one till open meant she had to stand with the rest of the pensioners,I realise times are changing but we still have pensioners and they like to be served.

Today was an absolute nightmare.
I decided to scan my items on my own as every time I shop here there is only one till operating and you have to wait in the cue. I thought it would be easier and faster. However when I wanted to upload my trolley in the till it said that a member of staff needed to check 14 items or so. This lady who comes to help me then said she needed to scan every single item as the system asked for it and no fault on her part
She was just doing her job but she forgot to put back in the bags 2 of the Yorkshire puddings trays that I got so I have to go back and request them. I waited longer than I would have originally in the end. There is not enough staff and customers are treated like thieves. They did not find one single item that I hadn't scanned. If sainsbury's doesn't trust customers then it shouldn't set up a smart checkout. This is outrageous and I didn't feel like I was spending the £150 in the right place. Big corporation with no care for their customers or their staff.
I saw an old gentleman struggling to work out the tills and the staff as helpful as they were they weren't enough to be around and working very hard to get to everyone.
Won't be using those tills anymore.
You have to get back as it was.

Sainsbury's is one of my personal favourites when it comes to groceries, however it is quickly loosing ground as it's SELF-CHECKOUT policies are being mandated resulting in more people loosing jobs and customers get less for their hard earned money - perhaps just to fall in line with the other retailers (who lead in this discusting endevour).

Mainly use to get fuel for car.
They have now gone to card only payment at the pumps. As yet have not been able to put Nectar points on my card, I think I may have to take receipts into the shop to have points registered. Not bothered as I don't shop for my food at Sainsbury's. Was better when I could pay at shop on forecourt.

Thank goodness Sainsbury's have started to stock my oat milk. We used to get it from Asda but they have decided that even though it was sold out nearly everyday it wasn't in demand and soya milk was better.
They also have an excellent range of non dairy products and free from products. Much better than the other supermarkets.
So if your vegetarian, vegan or have allergies Sainsbury's is the best store to go.

The clothes at TU are great, especially the baby clothes, but sizes 3-6 months always sell out very quickly at this store. I love this store, the way it’s laid out. All the staff are fantastic.
They regularly wipe the trolleys down which none of the other supermarkets do.
Yesterday I left 3 packs of cigarettes in a trolley that I had taken back to one of the trolley covers & they were handed back in. I went the day after & she remembered me, what I ordered for my partner & I got the items back. I’d like the thank the person who handled them in & Vikki for her great customer service skills and honesty. Thanks so much & will see you next week. Thanks from a very happy & relieved customer.
